Artifact Submission Tips

We are thrilled that you want to be part of the Portrait to Practice Expo at Annual Event! When submitting your artifacts consider the following in order to ensure that our graphic design team can make your banner look spectacular!

Submission information:

  • We want your photos and any graphics you wish to be a part of your banner to tell your story!
  • High resolution photos and graphics (200dpi or greater. 300dpi is ideal)
  • File types accepted: .jpg, .png, .indd, .ai, .eps, .svg
  • Files not accepted: .doc (Word), .ppt (Powerpoint), Excel
  • No screenshots off of the internet or your websites. These are too poor quality.
  • If your district has brand standards/guidelines, please submit those as well. We would love to have your color guidelines to match your branding perfectly.

Portrait to Practice Banner

At the 2024 Annual Event in Indianapolis, we will debut a new look to the Portrait to Practice Poster as a custom banner stand with a tripod frame (see mock-up) that you will be able to keep and return to your school district. The Battelle for Kids graphic design team will create this to display your work using the artifacts and information you submit. We will send you digital proof of your banner a month prior to the event for your review and approval. This poster will be on display for the entire Annual Event and will include a QR code that attendees can scan to see your artifacts in more detail. *Note: your artifacts will be available for attendees to access via a mobile app.

Portrait to Practice Expo Reception

Scheduled as part of the Annual Event program is the Portrait to Practice Expo reception during which attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions, learn more about your work, and share connections they are making to their own work with one another. Please plan to have at least one person from your team available to share and answer attendee questions. You do not need to prepare a presentation or additional artifacts – just show up and share! Your Portrait to Practice banner will be available at the reception location (and on the event mobile app) to reference during this event.
