Learning Sessions

Lead a 75-minute session and share innovative ideas, strategies, and initiatives around creating and implementing your district’s vision for 21st century education.
 

Portrait to Practice Expo

Showcase how your district is implementing its vision for 21st century learning—making the Portrait of a Graduate a reality for your students. Share artifacts that illustrate how you put your district's Portrait of a Graduate into practice and the impact it has on student learning. Learn more about the Portrait to Practice Expo.

You can present a learning session or participate in the Portrait to Practice Expo or do both!






SESSION STRANDS

Building momentum to deepen implementation of your district’s vision—the Portrait of a Graduate—requires purposeful shifts throughout the system including leadership and educator practices. 
 
Learning sessions are organized to focus on these system-wide shifts to promote equitable deeper learning outcomes for every student. 
 

SHIFTING THE SYSTEM—PORTRAIT OF A 21ST CENTURY EDUCATION SYSTEM

What shifts are you making to your educational system to establish the conditions to deliver equitable deeper learning outcomes for every student? For enduring transformation, all aspects of the system must be aligned and anchored in the vision—the Portrait of a Graduate. Share your impact story about these important system shifts. 
 

SHIFTING LEADERSHIP PRACTICES—PORTRAIT OF A LEADER

How are you supporting your leaders as they shift practices to advance deeper learning? Courageous leadership is necessary to equip educators and establish the conditions for 21st century, deeper learning to thrive. Share how your leaders are shifting practices as they support the implementation of the district’s vision, the Portrait of a Graduate.  

SHIFTING EDUCATOR PRACTICE—PORTRAIT OF AN EDUCATOR

How are you supporting educators as they shift from traditional models of learning and teaching to practices that advance deeper learning for every student? Deeper learning occurs through the purposeful integration of rigorous academic content with experiences that intentionally cultivate skills, mindsets, and literacies (Portrait of a Graduate competencies) essential for students to be life-long learners and contributors in the 21st century. Share powerful shifts in practice your educators are making to bring your Portrait of a Graduate to life for every student.
