Building a Network of Strong Teachers and School Leaders
02/07/2017
In 2010, the U.S. Department of Education awarded a five-year Teacher Incentive Fund (TIF) grant to a collaborative of 23 Ohio school districts, the Ohio Department of Education, and Battelle for Kids to advance educator effectiveness and improve student learning. Nearly 1,800 educators in these districts have taken advantage of professional learning opportunities through TIF to build capacity around promising practices, and apply this knowledge to make positive impacts in the classroom.
"Professional development through TIF has been career changing,"
shared Becky Arlington, a math and science teacher in Cincinnati Public Schools.
