Knowledge

Through our Teaching & Learning Center, Battelle for Kids offers a variety of in-person and online professional development opportunities. Our staff and faculty members have a wealth of knowledge and expertise, formerly serving as teachers, principals and superintendents as well as in other education leadership roles.

A cornerstone of our work is accelerating educators’ understanding and use of value-added analysis and formative assessment for school improvement purposes. We also provide counsel and support around leadership development in schools. Through our academies, we provide professional development in these areas through interactive seminars, professional learning communities, coaching and online learning networks.

Battelle for Kids also draws thousands of educators together to share best practices at statewide and national conferences each year. Through these and other professional development opportunities, educators learn to:

  • Analyze and use formative and summative assessment data to improve instruction.
  • Use visual learning (Educational Maps) and other interactive strategic planning and change management resources.
  • Grow as leaders and conduct strategic planning around progress data and school improvement.
  • Use progress data and value-added information to improve instruction.
