In preparation for the rollout of the value-added progress measure, Battelle for Kids and the Ohio Department of Education are leading a comprehensive training program to develop the skills of a cadre of educators who represent the 12 school improvement regions across Ohio.

Eighty Regional Value-Added Specialists (RVAS) made a two-year commitment (starting in 2005-2006) to learn more about value-added analysis’ uses and benefits and to train others to interpret and use value-added information.
