Battelle for Kids' FLAT PACK offers valuable tools and resources to support educators and others' efforts to help students thrive in a flat world. Each FLAT PACK includes a:
FLAT PACK tools are designed primarily for educators’ use—offering building administrators and teachers ideas and strategies for helping students to thrive in a flat world. The FLAT PACK also serves as a resource to help educators and others initiate important conversations with parents, students, school boards and businesses and community
members about this issue as well as the important roles they play in making change happen.
The Ohio Department of Education sponsored the production and distribution of a Flat Pack for every Ohio public school in October 2006. Since then, schools across Ohio have begun using the FLAT PACK during professional development and strategic planning sessions with staff, as part of pre-service teacher training programs, during Board meetings, to support levy campaigns, to engage community groups via community access cable and more. Upon hearing about the FLAT PACK from colleagues, educators from public and private elementary and secondary schools or higher education institutions in states including AL, AZ, CA, CO, DC, GA, IA, IL, IN, MD, MN, NC, ND, NE, NJ, NY, OH, TN, TX, UT, WA and WI have purchased FLAT PACKS to use in their districts as well.
The FLAT PACK clearly helps provoke discussion, generate ideas, spark creativity and encourage collaboration among educators about the best ways to help ALL students achieve success in our changing world.
In addition to the FLAT PACK FOR EDUCATORS, Battelle for Kids offers a FLAT PACK FOR SCHOOLS that includes additional sets of Flat Fact Card Games and Monographs – ideal for training an entire building staff. The Monographs are available for individual sale to support larger group discussions as well.
