SOAR
About Battelle for Kids' School Improvement Collaborative
SOAR, Battelle for Kids' school improvement collaborative, began as a pilot initiative in Ohio in 2002. Today, more than 100 Ohio school districts participate in SOAR--representing approximately 30 percent of the state's students. Ohio SOAR districts receive complete value-added reporting in grades 3-10, district and building executive summaries of value-added reports and opportunities to participate in classroom and high school-level value-added analysis pilots.
SOAR districts serve as Battelle for Kids’ “learning laboratory” to discover new ways to use value-added information for school improvement purposes, create innovative tools and conduct cutting-edge research.
SOAR districts also receive consortium pricing on educational products and services as well as an array of Battelle for Kids' professional development services and tools. Click here for a comprehensive list of benefits.
Nationally, Battelle for Kids offers consulting and training to help education organizations roll out training and use of value-added information, along with other data sources, to maximize student progress.
