Formative Instruction:
The Heart of Great Teaching With the demand for a multiple-measures approach, rather than a single, high-stakes test to determine student achievement and the research behind assessment for learning practices, the need for formative instructional practices has dramatically increased. Battelle for Kids partners with national assessment experts to provide professional learning that build educators' knowledge of how to establish clear learning targets for students; collect and document accurate evidence of student learning; provide effective feedback; and prepare students to engage in self-assessment, peer feedback, and goal setting. We help teachers and principals embed these practices into their daily instruction around the Common Core State Standards to accelerate student growth. | Building capacity among educators to understand and apply improved instructional practices. | | Helping schools implement intentional, systemic and ongoing assessments to inform instruction. | | | Learn More Formative Instruction Online Courses Learn About FIP Your School™ Ohio Contact Us For more information, contact
